The Mercer County Lady Titans gave up three first inning runs Monday night as they fell to the host Anderson County Lady Bearcats, 7-1.

Anderson County, who is ranked ninth in the state, got off to a fast start, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the first inning after holding the Lady Titans scoreless in the top half.

All three of the Lady Bearcats’ runs came on a homerun over the left field wall by junior Kaci Currens.

The next three innings flew by as the two teams were only able to get three hits combined and the score remained 3-0 after four innings.
