Lady Titans Claim Seventh Consecutive 46th District Title

The Mercer County Lady Titans won the 46th District Championship Thursday night over the East Jessamine Lady Jaguars. The win was Mercer County’s seventh consecutive district title.

Mercer County forced 29 turnovers and had four players score in double figures en route to a 90-62 victory over the East Jessamine Lady Jaguars in the 46th District Championship.

The win was the seventh straight district title for the Lady Titans. Mercer County Head Coach Chris Souder added his 14th district title in his 16 years at the school.

“I have been blessed to have good players, but people may not understand that this success starts with our middle school program. I have had so many great middle school coaches over the years and all of those coaches have bought into our system,” said Souder.

It didn’t take long to realize that the Lady Titans were going to add the title to their list of accomplishments this season.

Mercer County freshman Seygan Robins scored the first seven points for the Lady Titans to give them a 7-2 lead with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter.

Just a minute later they had stretched that lead to 19-2.
