Claunch Signs With Berea College

Mercer County senior Catheryne Claunch signed her letter of intent to play college basketball at Berea College starting in the 2015-16 season.
Claunch, who just scored her 1,000th point a week ago, said there were plenty of reasons she chose to go to the school that finished this regular season with a 15-9 record.
“I just recently made the decision to go there, but I kind of knew I wanted to go there for a while,” said Claunch.
It didn’t hurt that Claunch was already familiar with the coach and several of her future teammates.
“Coach (Trent) Milby (Berea Head Coach) was my Premier Coach in the past and there are also a few girls who played on Kentucky Premier and have gone on to play there,” added Claunch.
Milby had nothing but praise when speaking of his newest commit.
