Slow Start Derails Lady Bulldogs in All-A Classic

Burgin Lady Bulldogs Miranda Hungate shot a free-throw during the All-A Classic Tuesday night.

The Danville Lady Admirals scored the first 25 points of the game Tuesday night as they rolled to a, 69-20, victory over the Burgin Lady Bulldogs in the 12th Region All-A Classic.

Things started out bad for the Lady Bulldogs as they committed 12 turnovers before they getting their first points of the game off a free-throw by Destiney Thompkins with 2:34 left in the first quarter. By that time the Lady Bulldogs were already behind, 25-1. The quarter didn’t end any better for them as they trailed, 28-3, after one period.

The second quarter went much like the first as the Lady Admirals started the quarter on a 9-0 run and pushed their lead to, 47-8, at the end of the first half.

Danville continued to put on the defensive pressure in the third quarter as they held the Lady Bulldogs to only six points in the quarter and led, 57-14, after three quarters.
