Burgin Lady Bulldogs Ready To Get Season Underway

The Burgin Lady Bulldogs are ready to get their season underway after a 5-17 record last season. The team will start the season Tuesday, Dec. 2 at KSD.
The Burgin Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team is looking to improve from last years 5-17 season. It will prove to be a tough task with a first year coach as well as losing the team’s top two scorers from last years team.
Below are questions and answers with Head Coach Chad Terrell:
Q: Who are the key returning players from last years team?
A: “Miranda (Hungate), Taylor (Shepherd), Allison Harlow and Autumn Ransdell from what I’ve seen in practice will be some of our key returnees.
“Sarah (Auvil) was a newcomer last year and she improved a lot throughout the season.”
Q: Who were the key players lost from last season’s team?
A: “Liz Marcinek and Summer Burke were two of the big losses. They were nearly all of the scoring.”
Q: Who will be the key newcomers on this years team?
A: “We got a sophomore transfer from Garrard County, Alex Naylor, who I expect big things from.”
Q: What do you expect to be the strengths of the team?
A: “We’ve got a lot of room to grow. Other teams maybe have hit their peak. To be honest we haven’t hit our peak and it still may be two years before we do. When you have youth, that makes for an exciting season. This is a great group of girls who will do anything I ask of them.”
Q: What will be the weaknesses of the team?
