“You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.”
These were the words former Mercer County football standout and current University of Kentucky football player Tre Dunn used in his speech to a group of students at Mercer County Senior High School Thursday, Oct. 23.
Dunn, who graduated from Mercer County in 2010, spoke with around 200 students who maintaned a 3.5 GPA or higher during the 2013-14 school year.
The speech, which followed a breakfast focused on telling the students that there will be opportunities they are given in life, but that they need to take those opportunities and use them to their advantage.
Dunn started off talking about how he was sitting in the same seat as the students just four years ago, and how he didn’t know what his future held at the time.
