Titans Lose Lead Late Against Knights

Mercer County quarterback Drew Davis threw the ball in the Titans 20-19 loss to Marion County Friday, Oct. 10.
The Mercer County Titans Football Team came out looking to get their first district win of the season when they traveled to face the Marion County Knights Friday, Oct. 10, but fell just short, losing 20-19.
Marion County scored on a 3-yard run by senior Logan Breeding, with 11:09 left, to give the Knights a 20-19 lead, which they held onto for the remainder of the game.
Things started out a lot differently for the Titans.
Just two minutes into the game, Mercer County senior Austin Sparrow recovered a fumble to give the Titans the ball at the Marion County 38-yard line. One offensive play later, the Titans were in the lead.
Mercer County Head Coach Chris Pardue ran a trick play on the first play of the game. Dustin Baker was in at quarterback, and he handed the ball off to Trevon Faulkner, who handed it off to Drew Davis, who was lined up at receiver, and Davis found a wide open Grayson Blevins for the touchdown.
