The Mercer County Boys Soccer Team faced two tough battles this week as they faced off against the states’ sixth-ranked Woodford County Yellowjackets and the always-dominant Lexington Catholic Knights.
Woodford County
It was a battle between two top-25 teams when the Titans (5-1-2) traveled to take on undefeated Woodford County (5-0-1).
The Yellowjackets didn’t take long to prove why they are so highly rated, scoring just 55 seconds into the contest.
Woodford County’s Matt Evans took the ball down the sideline following the opening kickoff and crossed the ball just over the fingertips of Titan goalkeeper Zack Phillips, right to the head of teammate Christian Ramirez, who put it into the goal.
