Lady Titans Golf Place Fifth At Kearney Hills

Tatum Wessling drove the ball in the Lady Titans match versus Woodford County Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Bright Leaf Golf Course.

The Mercer County Lady Titans golf team hoped to  see improvement as they competed in the Paul Laurence Dunbar Invitational over the weekend as well as a match versus Woodford County on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Titans finished fifth in the PLD “Dave Bunnell Memorial Invitational” at Kearney Hills in Lexington, Saturday, Sept. 6, with a team score of 399.

The Lady Titans were led by eighth-grader Rebekah Upchurch who shot a team low of 87. Individual results for the Lady Titans are as follows:

Upchurch, 87; Allison Griffith, 100; Tatum Wessling, 104; Samantha Myers, 108; Kellie Ingram, 110. 

“I am very pleased with a top-5 finish this past weekend, especially since Kearney Hills will be the host course for the girls region this year, which takes place in three weeks.  Hopefully our girls can take this past weekends accomplishment and ride that momentum as the season comes to an end,” said Lady Titans Head Coach Jeremy Brummett.
