The Mercer County Titans soccer team went 12-7-3 in 2013 while winning their second consecutive district title, and Head Coach Garrett Stark plans to continue down that same path of success this season.
Below are questions and answers from Coach Stark on the upcoming season:
Q: Who are the key returning players in 2014?
A: “This year we have a strong technical class coming back and a lot of the guys have a lot of club experience. I expect Matthew Raskin, James (Stinnett), Clay (Morris), Matthew Steele, Wesley (Murray), Sawyer (Ransdell) and Drew (Angel) to provide leadership to this team. They are all returning and all saw a lot of playing time last year, so I expect a big season from that group.”
Q: Who are some of the key players lost from the 2013 District Champion team?
A: “We graduated nine strong players. That group was a special senior class that will truly be missed. That team stepped up last year and we will really miss that entire group.”
