2014 Volleyball Previews Burgin Bulldogs

Savannah Burke slammed the ball during a practice for the Burgin Bulldogs. The Bulldogs open their season on Aug. 19 at home, versus Boyle County.
The Burgin Bulldog volleyball team is going to have a completely new look to it this year with a new coach and the loss of nine seniors a year ago, but new Head Coach Ashley Campbell, plans to continue the winning ways.
Below are questions and answers with Coach Campbell:
Q: Who are the key returning players to the 2014 team?
A: “I really look for Jesalyn Bradford and Sarah Auvil to step up this season. They are two of our returning players and both bring so much to the team. Jesalyn is our setter, so she has to step up every game. Sarah is such a strong player and is really consistent.”
Q: Who are the key players lost from last years team?
A: “ I wasn’t here last year but I know the team lost nine seniors. Last years team had a lot of senior leadership, so it will hurt losing that, but I look for our seniors to step up this year.”
Q: Who are the newcomers to watch for on this years team?
A: “Autumn Ransdell is new to the team and she comes in and works extremely hard. I expect to see a lot out of her this season and in the future.”
