Mercer County 2014 Golf Previews

Finishing with an 11-2 record and a strong regional showing last year was great for the Mercer County Boy’s golf team, but Head Coach Jay Anderson expects even better results this year.
The Titans lost key players in Bailey Spalding and Tyler Bennett, but return a solid group of players in Ross Meeks, Austin Satterly, Corey Shewmaker, Connor True and Brennen Walton.
Below are question and answers with Coach Anderson about the upcoming 2014 season:
Q: What are the strengths of this year’s team?
A: “We have good team chemistry, which will help us this season. These guys have been together for a long time which should benefit them as the year progresses.”
Q: What are the weaknesses of the team?
A: “We have been such a young team, we have to learn how to win the big matches. You put yourself in position to win, but then you just have to execute and win. We’ve taken some lumps but now that we’ve grown up we’ve gotta learn how to win the big tournaments.”
