Cook Named Titans’ New Head Coach

Josh Cook was named the new head coach of the Mercer County Titans boys basketball team on Tuesday, April 22. Cook was the head coach of Lawrence County for the past two seasons.
Mercer County Senior High Athletic Director Jaziel Guerra named Josh Cook the new head coach of the boys basketball team at a press conference on Tuesday.
“From the very beginning, we had a candidate that kind of just stood out,” Guerra said. “Even the paperwork he sent in spoke to us. He came in and really just impressed us. I’m really excited about the opportunity that we’re going to have at Mercer County with him leading our boys basketball program.”
Cook spent the last two seasons at Lawrence County. He led the Bulldogs to a 21-11 record last season and a 20-11 record in 2012-13.
Before becoming head coach at Lawrence County, Cook was an assistant coach at Montgomery County.
