Fourth Quarter Dooms Titans on the Road

Despite putting up only 134 yards offensively for the entire game, the Mercer County Titan’s football team was within a touchdown of Anderson County Friday night with 35 seconds left in the third quarter, 28-21. Three turnovers and a quarter later the game’s final score hardly resembled how close the first three periods were when the Bearcats ran away from the Titans getting the win, 55-21.

“We did a very poor job offensively,” said Mercer Head Coach Chris Pardue. “I thought the defense for the most part, you know we gave up a few plays, but we played some decent defense at times. Our offense just put our team in a position to give up too many points.”
