Titans Football Suffers First Loss

Mercer’s Chris Crawley-Goodman carries the ball and Bruin defender down the field in the Titan’s home opener Friday.
After starting the season a perfect 3-0, the Mercer County football team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night at the hands of the class 6A Central Hardin Bruins (4-0), 48-27.
Mercer opened the game with a 73 yard reception by Chris Crawley-Goodman on their first offensive play, setting up first and goal at the Bruins one-yard-line. Drew Davis finished the drive off two plays later crossing the goaling on a quarterback sneak for the touchdown. A Travis Fox field goal gave the Titans a 7-0 lead with less than a minute taken off the clock, but from there it was all Central Hardin.
