Mercer Volleyball Rides Winning Streak

Darby Whalen goes up for the kill in the Lady Titan’s district win Tuesday night over the Lady Jaguars of East Jessamine.

After dropping their season opener to the Lady Golden Lions of Garrard County, the Mercer County volleyball team has been on a tear, winning seven straight matches including the Lady Pirates Tournament (LPT) held over the weekend in Berea. 

Not only have the Lady Titans not lost a match, they haven’t even dropped a game. Mercer started their streak by defeating Danville in their home opener last week 2-0 and followed by another 2-0 win on the road against Campbellsville. The Lady Titans then swept the LPT by defeating Knott County Central, West Carter, Madison Southern and Lynn Camp, all 2-0.
