Dale Edson Harstine, 88, of Harrodsburg,  died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
Born Oct. 17, 1924 in New Philadelphia, Ohio he was the son of the late Elmer and Pearl Rinehart Harstine. He was a WWII Veteran of the U. S.  Navy. He graduated from New Philadelphia High School where he played basketball and was the manager of the football team. He was a graduate of Letourneau University in Longview, Texas with a mechanical engineering degree; he was an engineer with Corning Glass Works and retired from General Electric Glass plant in Lexington. He was of the Baptist faith, was a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club and his name appears on the honor roll of the National WWII museum in New Orleans and the Veterans Wall of Honor in Millennium Park in Danville.
