Bulldogs Can’t Keep Up With Garrard

A slow start and costly fifth inning by the Burgin Baseball team last Thursday against Garrard County (10-10) resulted in the team’s fourth straight loss of the season. 

Burgin starting pitcher Mason Myers went four and a third innings in the loss giving up 10 runs on 10 hits and two walks, while earning four strikeouts. 

Winning pitcher TJ Midkiff led off the game with a single up the middle. Midkiff later stole second, third and eventually home plate on a passed ball giving Garrard County the 1-0 lead. The Golden Lions added three more runs in the third inning and another in the top of the fourth taking a 5-0 lead.
