Lady Titans Take Down Colts, 7-1The Lady Titans broke a four game losing streak Tuesday night and improved to 1-1 in the 46th District by defeating the Lady Colts of West Jessamine (3-12), 7-1.

The Lady Titans broke a four game losing streak Tuesday night and improved to 1-1 in the 46th District by defeating the Lady Colts of West Jessamine (3-12), 7-1. 

Mercer pitcher Megan Hilbert went all seven innings and gave up just one run on five hits while striking out eight batters to get the win. She also had 4 RBIs and two runs scored.

A triple by Hilbert in the bottom of the opening inning scored leadoff batter Taylor Schroeder from second base giving Mercer the 1-0 lead. Hilbert was driven home on the Lady Titan’s next at bat on an Ashley Harley single, giving Mercer the 2-0 lead after the opening inning.
