JoAnn Dexter

JoAnn Sexton Dexter, wife of Sam B. Dexter, died Tuesday April 9, 2013 at her residence. 

Born Aug. 3, 1930 in Burgin, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma Jane Ball Sexton. She was a 1948 graduate of Burgin High School where she was Miss Burgin High School and a cheerleader. She was the church secretary of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Most recently, she was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. 

Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, Mark Stephan (Julie) Dexter and Tim Burke (Ella Mae) Dexter of Danville; a daughter, Jane Dexter (John) Patneau of Atlanta,  Ga.; a sister, Martha Bennett of Burgin; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
