Burgin’s Track Teams Opens Season Strong

The Burgin boy’s track team finished just five points behind Somerset High School, finishing second in the teams season opener Saturday at the Model All-Comers held at Eastern Kentucky University.
The Briar Jumpers won the meet with 80 points, besting Burgin’s 75 points. West Jessamine finished in third on the boys side with 65 points. The Bulldogs earned nine top three finishes including three first place finishes.
The Lady Bulldogs also earned three first places finishes, with six total top three finishes. Burgin’s girls as a team placed third overall with 64 points, behind Nicholas County and Somerset who finished first and second respectfully with 76 and 75 points each.
