Burgin and Mercer track teams were in competition Tuesday at the Boyle County All-Comers meet. While Burgin opened the season at the Model All-Comers last week, it was the first meet of the season for the Titan’s track team who finished third overall with 97 points, one spot ahead of the Bulldogs who placed fourth with 75 points.
Hosting Boyle County won the boys division with 140 points, with Madison Southern finishing second with 111 points. The Mercer boys team ended the meet with 11 top-three finishes including four first place finishes. The Bulldogs had seven top-three finishes, three first place finishes and saw Nick Beckerson and Jared Powell finish first and second respectively in the boys discuss throw.
In the girl’s division, the Lady Bulldogs finished third overall with 81 points, behind meet winners Madison Southern who had 156 points and the second place Lady Rebels of Boyle County who had 133 points. Burgin Girls ended the meet with 10 top three finishes and two first place finishes.
