James Tewmey

James L. “TipToe” Tewmey, 86, of Harrodsburg, husband of Flona “Flo” Kerr Tewmey, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 27, 1926 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James Garnett and Laura Goodpaster Tewmey.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII  and the Korean War and was retired from RV Cablevision and Tewmey TV and Radio. He was a member of Harrodsburg Christian Church; The National Association for Amateur Radio; VFW; American Legion Post 52; DAV; Charter Member of Mercer County Fish and Game Farm. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Laura (Benny) Peyton of Danville, Lora Botner of Danville and Cindy (Steve) Probus of Orlando, Fla.; three sons, Gary Sanchez (Debbie) Tewmey of New Castle, Calif., Jim (Teresa) Tewmey of Lebanon, Tenn. and Mike Tewmey of Harrodsburg; 14 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, six great-great- grandchildren.
