For the first time since the 2006 season, the Lady Bulldogs basketball team can call themselves the Bluegrass Conference Classic (BCC) champions.

“We came out and played four quarters,” said Burgin Head Coach Ray Daniels. “We shot the ball well, executed our offense, stayed patient on defense and just came into the game really focused.”

Burgin jumped out to a 17-5 first quarter lead and never looked back on their way the the 64-44 win.

“None of the girls on this team were a part of the last BCC championship team so this win means a lot to these seniors,” said Daniels.

Listed below are individual player’s scoring totals: Burgin (12-10) – Liz Marcinek 23, Taylor Sanders 20, Summer Burke 10, Randi Burke 10, Autumn Randell 1.
