Lady Bulldogs Three Game Winning Streak Snapped

The Lady Briar Jumpers broke the Lady Bulldog’s three game winning streak Monday night in the opening round of the 12th Region All “A” Classic, 60-45.
A slow start doomed the Lady Bulldogs who scored just four points in the opening half as they fell behind, 15-4. Burgin ended the game with three players, Summer Burke, Liz Marcinek and Taylor Sanders, scoring double figures, but it wasn’t enough to overcome their slow start as Somerset got the win.

Burgin (11-9) — Taylor Sanders 14, Liz Marcinek 12, Summer Burke 10, Randi Burke 8, Taylor Shepherd 1.
Somerset (8-11) — Beth Edwards 16, Maranda Mills 14, Virginia Scott 12, Madison Brooks 11, Erica Ford 5, Tiara Brown 1, Brynlee Bigelow 1.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action this Saturday, Jan. 19 when they travel to West Jessamine for 46th District play. Burgin is currently the second seed in the district with West two games behind in fourth place.
