Granville Lovings

Granville Lovings 95, widower of Verna Collier Lovings, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. 

Born May 2, 1917 in Livingston, he was the son of the late Farris Thomas and Ida Browning Lovings. He was Purple Heart recipient while serving in the Army during WWII. He was a charter member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Broadway Baptist Church, and a U.S. Post Office Clerk. 

Survivors include two sons, Granville Cecil (Judy) Lovings, and David Allen (Cathy) Lovings, both of Lexington; one daughter, Phyllis Ann (Harold) Terry of Catlettsburg; three sisters, Opal Davis of Lexington, Ruth Roeck of Atlanta, Ga. and Mable Ann Russell of Georgetown; one brother, Elmer Cecil Lovings of Richmond; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
