James Mobley

James Irvin Mobley, 90, formerly of Fern Creek, widower of Anna Mae Mobley, died Dec. 28, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
Born in Mercer County on Feb. 25, 1922, he was the son of the late Golden and Nettie Hendren Mobley. He was a Christian church minister, he served five Kentucky churches, and he attended Cincinnati Christian University, Louisville Bible College and College of the Scriptures. He was a disabled veteran from World War II.
His first ministry was with his home church, Cornishville Christian Church. Upon leaving there, he established the Magnolia Street Christian Church in Harrodsburg. He later served with Fairview Christian Church in Lawrenceburg; Plum Creek Christian Church in Butler and First Christian Church in Mt. Washington.
He is survived by two sons, Tom (Alice) Mobley of Bardstown and Steve (Hazel) Mobley of Mt. Washington; a brother, R.C. Mobley of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
