Naomi Green

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Naomi Francis Pierce Green on Nov. 12, 2012. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Born March 7, 1933 in Burgin, she was a devoted and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and sister. Her life was a celebration of all that is good in people. She was a 1950 graduate of Burgin High School. She married Edwin Harrison Green in 1950 and together they raised four boys and settled in Charlotte, N.C.
She is survived by four sons: Edwin Harrison Green, Jr. and his wife Gail of Tacoma, Wash., Herman Ray Green of Charlotte, N.C., Howard Lee Green of Charlotte, N.C. and Michael Thomas Green and his wife Tara of Matthews, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Moriah, Katelynn, Harrison and Jesse; sister Jackie Pierce Foster and her husband Tom of Shelbyville, and brother Dennis “Butch” Pierce and his wife Janet of Danville, and sister-in-law Helen Pierce of California.
