Lonnie Sanders

Lonnie R. Sanders, 64 husband of Sandy Collier Sanders, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at his residence. 

Born Sept. 14, 1948 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Worley and Ethel Norton Sanders. He served in the US Army in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and had worked for Hall Mack & Florida Tile. He was a member of the Bluegrass Horse Pulling Association and the Disabled American Veterans Association.  

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Joe (Lisa) Norton of Mayo and Joseph (Angie) Sanders of Kirkwood; three daughters, Cindy Jenkins of Mayo, Charlie (Joe)Lanham of Harrodsburg and Tammy Sanders of Rose Hill; two brothers, Charles Sanders of Harrodsburg and Timmy Sanders of Duncan; three sisters, Mae Hamlin of Mayo, Jean Claunch of Duncansville and Doris Peavler of Harrodsburg; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
