John Chenault

John Benjamin Chenault III, 65, husband of Mary Jane Porter Chenault of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born July 30, 1947, he was the son of the late John Benjamin II and Louise Allen Chenault. He attended Harrodsburg Independent Schools, was a highly decorated veteran of the U.S. Army who received both a Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in the Vietnam War, worked for Pugh Landscaping for many years, was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Cynthia (Andres) Gonzalez,  Tonya (Ebelio) Roblero and Ishia Chenault, all of Harrodsburg; a stepdaughter, Constance (Anthony)Wheat of Louisville; five stepsons, Jerry Chenault and Ishmael Taylor, both of Lexington, Antonio Chenault and Terry Williams, both of Harrodsburg and Gerald (Merry) Calhoun of New Albany, Ind.; three brothers, Don Smith, Jose’ (Denise)Walker and William (Tawaka) Bartleson, all of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Lorna Mays of Harrodsburg, Theria Vierra of North Carolina, Donna (Robert) Johnson of Elizabethtown and Marsha Chenault of Lexington; three grandchildren; three aunts and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
