Lady Titans Beat Bardstown

The Lady Titans soccer team picked up their ninth win of the season Thursday night shutting out the previously unbeaten Lady Tigers of Bardstown (6-1-1), 2-0.

Shannon Murray opened the scoring for Mercer early in the game giving the Lady Titans a 1-0 lead. The score remained the same going into halftime where Mercer dominated possession throughout the half and limited the Lady Tiger’s chances on offense. 

“We did a good job moving without the ball and maintaining possession throughout the game,” said Mercer Head Coach Tony Brown. 

Murray added her second goal in the opening minutes of the second half and Mercer held on from there getting the win, 2-0.

The Lady Titans return to action today, Thursday Sept. 20 hosting the Lady Bearcats of Anderson County (6-7-1) at 7:30 p.m.
