Floying Thompson

Floying W. Thompson, Sr., 86, widower of the late Margaret Eloise Harmon Thompson, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  

Born Jan. 25, 1926 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Leona Cornish Thompson Carey and Ary Thompson.  He was a retired farmer, a WWII U.S. Army veteran  and a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church.  

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Floying W. (Marsha) Thompson, Jr. of Danville and Dennis (Rose) Thompson of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Matha Baker of Shelbyville, Anna Lou Carey of Nicholasville and Flossie Oder of Springfield; one brother, J.W. Carey of Lebanon and two grandchildren.
