Edna Wayne

Edna Wayne, 89, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.  

Born Nov. 8, 1922 in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Parks and Nannie DeVere Conn.  She was a retired factory worker, a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church and cared for over 500 foster children in her 35 years of service.  

Survivors include one daughter, Melissa (Tyrone) Jones of Lexington; foster daughter, Katherine (Cecil) Madison of Lexington; one sister, Nellie F. Hightower of Harrodsburg; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
