Janice Souder

On Tuesday, May 8, 2012, our beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend, Janice T. Souder, died peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born in Northern Kentucky on March 24, 1937, to the late Leslie Carl and Geneva Mae Beach Thornton.  The majority of her adult life was spent in Harrodsburg.  She was the first and only secretary at the Evan Harlow Elementary School for more than 30 years, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.

Our mother’s greatest joy in life was her family.  Her unconditional love, kindness, generosity, and patience were endless.  Each obstacle and trial in her life was managed successfully with grace and dignity.  Her life will serve as a wonderful example and model to live by.  Her sweet voice and words of encouragement will live within us forever.

She is survived by: three children, Kim (Robb) Uhl of Sabina, Ohio, Greg (Debbie) Souder, Harrodsburg, and Chris (Carmen) Souder, Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, Katie and Amanda Uhl, Nicholas, Landon, Emmy, Carli and Connor Souder.
