Lady Titans Drop Lady Patriots

The Lady Titans took control of first place in the 12th Region Monday defeating the regions third ranked Lady Patriots of Lincoln County (9-7), 12-2, in six innings of play.
“I knew Lincoln County was going to be tired coming into this game,” said Mercer head coach Steve Lyons. “They just came off a tournament in Clarksville, Tenn. playing six games. Playing that many games in such a short amount of time along with the travel, I knew if we came out here and took care of business early, we would be alright and we were.”
Mercer starting pitcher and ace Tabby Shewmaker got the win going all six innings and giving up two unearned runs on three hits and four walks earning nine strikeouts along the way.
