The Titans (1-1) picked up their first win of the season Tuesday night defeating the Patriots of Lincoln County (1-2) in five innings, 10-0. Starting pitcher John Banks got the win going three innings, giving up no runs on three hits.
Mercer’s Tyler Devine got his team going on offense in the first inning driving in two runs, giving the Titans a 2-0 lead. John Ingram made it a 3-0 game after two innings, driving in Austin Horn.
The Titans added two more runs in the third and fourth inning increasing their lead to 7-0.
Relief pitcher Seth Heath came in for Banks in the fourth going two innings and giving up no runs on one hit.
After earning two runs already in the bottom of the fifth inning, Heath closed out the game with a R.B.I single to right field, giving Mercer the mercy win in five innings, 10-0.
The Titans will be back in action tonight, Thursday, March 22, as they host the undefeated Admirals of Danville (4-0) at 5:30 p.m.
