Bulldogs Fall to 0-2 on Season

The Bulldogs (0-2) suffered another loss Tuesday night in the teams home opener against the Golden Lions of Garrard County. After holding a small lead early in the game, Burgin was unable to keep pace with the Golden Lions defense who got the win, 10-1.
Starting pitcher Hunter Harrison got in a jam in the first inning, loading the bases with just one out. Harrison managed to get out of the inning undamaged, picking up his first strikeout of the game followed by a fielders choice to shortstop Mason Myers
Myers drove in the Bulldogs only run in the bottom of the first inning on a single over the shortstops head, putting Burgin on top, 1-0.
After getting out of another jam in the third inning Harrison gave up two runs in the top of the fourth inning giving Garrard the lead, 2-1. The Golden Lions added three runs in the fifth innin, three in sixth and two more in the seventh getting the win, 10-1.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, March 24 when they take on the Rebels of Casey County (0-2) on the road at 12 p.m.
