Arvin Short

Arvin Short, 85, of Salvisa, husband of Katherine Goodpaster Short, died Thursday, March 1, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 21, 1926 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Benjamin and Cokie Carrow Short. He served during World War II in the Navy, receiving a Meritorious Commendation for boiler repairs he made during battle on the U.S.S. New Jersey. He was a retired boiler operator from Kentucky Utilities and a long time farmer. He was member of Clay Lick Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Donna Short Green and one son, Arvin Wayne “Buddy” (Glynda) Short; a brother, Carl Short; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
