Mercer Tops Burgin In Championship

The Lady Titans won their fourth straight 46th District Championship Thursday night defeating the Lady Bulldogs of Burgin in a rematch of last years championship game, 69-33.

Burgin’s Shavon Majors opened the game with a three-point basket giving the Lady Bulldogs their only lead of the game. Mercer answered with a 14-0 run before taking a 19-8 lead into the second quarter despite shooting just 40 percent from the free throw line, two of five.
