Barbara Kelty

Barbara Lou Carrico Kelty 75, of Springfield, widow of Ernest Russell Kelty, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born Oct. 15, 1936 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Adrain and Mary Elsie Hamilton Carrico. She was a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing Company in Springfield, a lunchroom worker at St. Dominic School for many years, an employee of Washington County Head Start and Washington County Workshop and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church.

She is survived by two sons, Ernie (Missy) Kelty Jr. of Harrodsburg and Todd (Roxie) Kelty of Springfield; a daughter, Penny (Tim) Hagan of Lexington; two brothers, Donnie (Darlene) Carrico of Springfield and Doug (Anne) Carrico of Bardstown; four sisters, Bonnie (Sonny) Taylor of Taylorsville, Julie (Tommy) Noel and Carolyn Carrico all of Springfield, Claudine Noel of Mackville and eight grandchildren.
