Mercer Softball Shuts Out Danville, 15-0

The Lady Titans softball team picked up their third win of the season Monday night against the Lady Admirals of Danville in four innings, 15-0.

Mercer’s starting pitcher, Gabby Banks went all four innings, giving up just two hits and one base on balls while striking out six batters in a shutout performance. 


Rain Delays Titans Pursuit of Perfection

Thanks to mother nature the No. 1 state ranked Mercer County Titans baseball team’s pursuit of perfection was put on delay Tuesday night in their district opener at East Jessamine against the Jaguars. 

Mercer leadoff man, Tanner Robbins, opened the game with a single to left field and advanced to second base when teammate Chris Crawley-Goodman was hit by a Jarred Jones pitch.

Titans Win Danville All-Comers Meet

Mercer’s boys team placed first  out of eight teams with 173 points in the Danville All-Comers meet Tuesday evening. Burgin’s girls team, with 127 points, came in  a close second place to Casey County who finished with 129 points, Mercer followed in third place with 94 points. Burgin’s boys team placed fifth finishing with 50 points.

The Mercer County Titans baseball team stayed perfect on the season Thursday night defeating the Briar Jumpers of Somerset, 11-5.

On a chilly night in Lawrenceburg, the Mercer County Titans’ bats had a bit of trouble heating up, but a four-run third inning, matched with solid defense in the final innings was enough to beat the Anderson County Bearcats, 4-3.
