The Mercer County Lady Titans soccer team ended the regular season with a 6-0 victory Monday night over the visiting Western Hills Lady Wolverines. Unfortunately, the win was overshadowed by injuries that may set the team back next week as they start district play.

Sophomore Faith Lake opened the scoring for the Lady Titans nine minutes into the game and fellow sophomore Chelsea Moore added her team-high 29th goal of the season 10 minutes later, giving Mercer County a 2-0 lead.

With 18 minutes remaining in the first half Kate Bryant scored to give the Lady Titans a 3-0 lead, which is how it remained at halftime.

“I thought we had a lot of opportunities in the first half that we should have put in the back of the net. We have still got to work on finishing shots,” said Mercer County Head Coach Tony Brown. “But I thought we played pretty well to start the game.”
