Mercer County softball player Kaylee Russell signed Thursday morning to continue her career at Lindsey Wilson College.

The senior said once she took a visit to the campus in late February she knew it was the place for her.

“I went and took a visit and I talked to (Lindsey Wilson assistant softball coach) Sam (White) and members of the team and I felt like they wanted me there as much as I wanted to be there,” said Russell, who chose Lindsey Wilson over Campbellsville University and Georgetown College.

Russell, who is a pitcher for the Lady Titans, will be utilized in other positions at Lindsey Wilson.

“She is probably going to play outfield for us. She moves around really well and she is a great athlete,” said  White. “Our pitching staff is really strong right now, so she actually gives us even more depth and makes us even stronger if we need it.”
