Mercer County basketball coach Josh Cook had a successful first year at the helm. His team won a school record 23 games, the 46th District title for the first time since 2011 and advanced to the 12th Region semifinals.

The Mercer County Lady Titans softball team hung with the state’s No. 19 East Jessamine Lady Jaguars for five innings Wednesday in the 46th District Championship. A five run sixth inning for the Lady Jaguars ended all that, as East Jessamine dropped the Lady Titans, 6-0, to win their third straight district title.

The Mercer County baseball team didn’t get many opportunities to win the 46th District Championship Wednesday night as the West Jessamine Colts held them to only three hits and walked only one batter in a 7-1 win.
