Titans Fall in Region Final

It was a tough night to be a Mercer County Titan as their season came to an end in the 12th Region Championship on Tuesday, March 7.

The Titans struggled with ball security early on, turning the ball over three times in the first three minutes of the game.  As a result they didn’t score their first basket until four minutes into the game and were unable to get into any sort of rhythm going for much of the first quarter.

Pulaski County took advantage and jumped out to a quick 16-2 lead. Mercer Head Coach Kurt Young said his team needed to get off to a better start and cut the turnovers if they were going to come back in the game.

“You have to give Pulaski a lot of credit. It was a physical game and they’re extremely athletic,” said Young. “Sometimes you make shots and sometimes you don’t. That’s the game of basketball.”
