Baseball
Bulldogs' win streak snapped by Sayre in six

The Burgin Bulldogs had been on a long and treacherous learning experience leading up to a matchup Monday night against the home-standing Sayre Spartans.

The Bulldogs had been through a nine-game losing streak followed by a complete turn around that saw three quality wins in consecutive fashion. The biggest of wins for Burgin came a week ago with a 9-8 victory in nine innings over district rival East Jessamine. The win gave the Bulldogs their second of three consecutive wins, and their first district win of the season.

Softball
Burgin finds way to win in eight

The Lady Bulldogs had recently been on a swing of epic proportions. Burgin saw a very tough start to the season, winning one of their first nine. But, mid-April would see the Lady Bulldogs win four games in five outings to jump-start their standing in the rankings. But, the run would only last one more day, as the Lady Bulldogs were losers of their last two contests against Washington County and Berea following another pair of losses on the road. But, Burgin would get a chance Tuesday to snap the losing streak with Bethlehem in town for an afternoon matchup. And, the Lady Bulldogs would do just that, coming back from six down to score seven uncontested runs and win 7-6 in eight innings.

Lady Titans suffer home loss to Boyle County, 15-2
The Lady Titans have been near the bottom of the regional rankings from the very first pitch of this season. But, the experience gained has been very rewarding for the young softball team, a squad that has something to learn with each and every outing.

With a losing streak to start the season, a solid district win to end the losing streak and a hard fought win amongst a slew of difficult contests, the Lady Titans have learned that fighting for every ounce of success is the key to winning.
Thursday's showdown with the Boyle County Lady Rebels would provide Mercer with another hard lesson to learn for seasons to come, falling to the visiting Lady Rebels 15-2 at home.

Tennis
Titans win two straight to move to 11-3

Titans tennis has been on the highest of highs coming into this week's matchups against district rival West Jessamine on Monday and a meeting with Somerset on Tuesday.

The consecutive days of tennis battling would be quite a task for the Mercer boys, but not a difficult enough task to not take both teams by storm.
