ELMER BARNES
Elmer “Pete” Barnes, 87, widower of Eva Mae Peavler Barnes, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 26, 1923 in Washington County, he was the son of the late John and Ettie B. Tyler Barnes. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a former factory worker, farmer and a member of the Berea Christian Church.
EVA BARNES
Eva Barnes, 85, of Harrodsburg, wife of Elmer “Pete” Barnes, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Nov. 2, 1926 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dollie Sallee Peavler. She was retired from the Good Samaritan Hospital housekeeping department.
JAMES FOGT
James Edward Fogt, Jr., 60, beloved husband of Vicki Darland Fogt for 34 years, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Jan. 19, 1952 in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late James Edward Sr. and Louise Milburn Fogt. He was an electrician and worked at Arrow Electric in Lexington. He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He enjoyed motorcycles, rebuilding cars and painting.
DEIDRA KETTLES
Deidra Lynn Powell Kettles, 45, of Harrodsburg, wife of Jeffrey Kettles, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 in Jeffersonville, Ind.
Born June 10, 1966 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Cornell Powell and the late Linda Lou Powell.
WILLIAM RUBY
William H. Ruby, 20, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at his home in Louisville.
Born Oct. 27, 1991 in Louisville, he was the son of the late William David Hourigan Jr, and Jean Anastasia Ruby. He was a student at Jefferson County Technical College.

Charles Smith, Jr. 61, of Beaufort, S.C., formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Vera Bostick Smith, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at the Hospice House of Savannah, Ga.
Born Nov. 13, 1950, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Price G. Smith and Rev. Charles H. Smith, Sr. He attended Harrodsburg High school, was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and the US Navy, was employed at Georgia Pacific and Cascades Tissue Group and was a member of the Fishers of Men Pentecostal Church.
ELIZABETH ANGEL SMITH
Elizabeth “Liz” Donna Angel Smith, wife of Wilson Vance Smith, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at her home.
Born Nov. 16, 1948 in Berea, she was the daughter of Jane Irby Dunn Angel of Lebanon, and the late John Raymond Angel.
